JAXPORT chooses CEO search committee

By Stephanie Brown

Jacksonville, FL —

In fewer than 90 days we will see candidates emerge to take over Jacksonville’s Port Authority.

During it’s Monday meeting, JAXPORT’s Board of Directors selected Heidrick & Struggles, based out of Chicago, as the firm to conduct a search for JAXPORT’s new CEO.

A spokeswoman with JAXPORT tells WOKV the process is expected to take no longer than 90 days, and the contract also awards the firm $99,000.  She says the criteria of what the firm is looking for is still being finalized, but that the firm has extensive experience in these kinds of searches.

The JAXPORT Board of Directors will make the final selection from the candidates for the job.

State Representative Lake Ray, longtime port advocate, first told WOKV he wants to be considered for the CEO position. We will see more candidates emerging shortly.
