By Gene Wexler

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Police are looking for a white, two door Chrysler possibly with a sun roof offset with a visor or wind deflector.  Investigators believe that the windshield should have significant damage.

On Tuesday, July 3 at 11:50 p.m. police resopnded to a traffic crash near the intersection of Edgwood Ave. and Vernon St.

Investigators say the victim, Willie, was walking across Edgewood when he was struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

A black male and a black female were in the suspect Chrysler vehicle at the time of the crash, according to investigators.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were believed to be non-life threatening at the time.  However, the victim was pronounced deceased on Monday, July 16.

JSO is requesting assistance from the public regarding the identity of the people who were in the suspect vehicle at the time of the crash.

This is an active ongoing investigation.

Anyone with any information about the identity of either suspects is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500 or email them at JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org.
