JSO responds to two seperate homicides

Jacksonville, FL —

Jacksonville police responding to two separate homicide cases on Sunday, one at a Westside apartment complex and another on the Northside.

At about 5:20 Sunday afternoon at least nine shots were fired into a crowd of people on Benedict Road.  Once the crowd ran off one man was found on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds.  He was taken to Shands and was pronounced dead there.

The other homicide was reported at the Savannah Oaks apartment complex on Roosevelt Boulevard near the Jacksonville Naval Air Station just 10 minutes after the shooting on the north.

JSO says a woman’s body was found in the bushes and no indication of how she died.  Police are looking for her missing car but no description was given.  Anyone with information should contact JSO at 630-0500.
