It's no secret that many banks are planning to start charging debit card users monthly fees. Bank of America is the most prominent and most recent, rolling out plans to begin charging debit card users a $5.oo monthly fee for card use. So how can consumers fight back?
"The best revenge is to handle your money better...when you use cash, you know 'Hey, my cash is thinning out. I got another 5 days until payday. I gotta be careful with my money," says WOKV consumer warrior Clark Howard
Howard says using cash is a huge help, not only because you can avoid the fee, but also because it will help manage money better.
If you do decide to change banks, Howard says there are plenty of local banks and credit unions who don't charge fees for debit card use.
