Log truck driver facing charges

By WOKV News Team

Jacksonville, FL —

The driver responsible for the Northside traffic alert in effect for most of today is facing charges.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 39-year-old Jason Samuel Bowen was driving northbound on I-95 when he traveled in to the shoulder and hit the left concrete barrier near Lem Turner Blvd.  That caused the trailer of his log truck to overturn, sending debris in to northbound and southbound lanes. While the southbound lanes were cleared quickly, two northbound lanes remained closed for several hours.

Bowen was not harmed and there were no reported injuries on the scene, although a few cars sustained minor damage.  FHP says Bowen is charged with driving a vehicle in an unsafe condition.
