By Matt Augustine

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. —

A manhunt for a man who allegedly hit an Florida Highway Patrol trooper as he tried to flee on foot is over.

Police arrested 35-year-old Trevor Flum not too far from where he was pulled over in Alachua County.

Cops say he ran away from the trooper after he was pulled over and as he fled, he allegedly hit the trooper with a large tree branch.

Flum has a long criminal history and had been released from jail in Leon County days earlier.
