JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

A not guilty plea entered in the murder of a man outside the Jacksonville Landing in August.

Greg Johnson, 26, pleaded not guilty to murdered Taylor Evans outside of Maverick's Rock N' Honky Tonk, according to our news partner Channel 4.

Police say Evans, 22, was standing in the parking lot across the street from the Landing when he was hit by a vehicle.  The driver has not been charged or identified by police.

Johnson is charged for the murder because police say he was assaulting the driver through an open car window, and the driver tried to get away when he ran over Evans.

Police say the fight was the continuation of one that began as people were leaving Maverick's around 2:15 a.m. on August 14.
