Man surrenders to SWAT team on westside

By WOKV News Team

Jacksonville, FL —

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team has left a westside neighborhood following a morning-long standoff with a man in a home.

WOKV's Matt Augustine reports the police were called to the home on Eddings Grove Lane, west of Hammond and north of Normandy.

When police arrived, police say the man's wife came out with cuts and bruises.  JSO attempted to talk to the man for several hours to no avail.  Eventually, the man surrendered to police and was arrested.  JSO public information officer Melissa Bujeda says the man will be charged with domestic battery.

Traffic is once again moving through the neighborhood.
