Deputy, kids injured in St. Johns crash

A deputy from St. Johns County was injured in a crash near the World Golf Village.

Jacksonville, FL —

A deputy in St. Johns County is recovering from serious injuries in a crash that also sent two kids to the hospital.

Deputy Mark Wilson's cruiser was hit on U.S. 1 and International Golf Parkway Thursday afternoon when a car turned in front of him.

Wilson had serious injuries.  The children, ages 6 and 11, had minor injuries.

The other driver, 77 year-old Steven Fitzgerald, was ticketed for turning in front of approaching traffic.  Fitzgerald suffered minor injuries in the crash.
