Multi-million dollar southside home burns

By Rich Jones

Jacksonville, FL —

Jacksonville firefighters battle a raging fire Thursday at a multi-million dollar home along the banks of the St. Johns River.

The 10,000 square foot home on Cathedral Oaks Place West near Goodby's Creek.

The house is valued at more than $2.5 million and damage is estimated at around $200,000.

No one was home at the time of the fire around 6pm.  Smoke was first reported to firefighters after 7pm.

Fire officials say it may have started in the laundry room.
