The latest housing sales numbers reveal the housing market in Northeast Florida is rebounding and WOKV is uncovering what that means for you.
Carol Zingone, president of the Northeast florida association of realtors says housing sales prices are up nearly 26 percent than a year ago. She says its great for homeowners looking to sell.
"They are getting closer to getting to being able to look at their values again on a positive scale versus a negative scale."
Zingone says first-time home buyers benefit because the property is more likely to be appraised at the purchase price. As for home owners who are looking to sell or capitalize on equity, she says you will get back more on your original investment.
Median home sale prices hit 170 thousand dollars which is a 25 percent increase from a year ago. The percent of original list price received is also up, four percent from last year. Zingone says this means if a home is priced right and presented right you are more likely to get closer to what the listing offer is without negotiating down too much.
