By Matt Augustine

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority announcing big building plans at Cecil Airport this morning that is supposed to bring hundreds of new jobs to Jacksonville.

JAA chairman A.L. Kelly and Mayor Alvin Brown announced plans for a new hangar that would accomodate the expansion of the FlightStar Aircraft Services, Inc. operation which they expect will produce 350-400 new jobs in aviation.

The hangar would cost $27 million, which JAA and the FDOT would split right down the middle. Anything more than that, FlightStar has to cover. It will be 150,000 square feet and serve as a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility.

FlightStar leases 2 MRO hangars and a large warehouse already at Cecil Airport.
