Jacksonville police are asking for the public's help in finding a man they say raped a woman on the Northwest side over five months ago.

Investigators say on July 23, 2012 at 9:30 p.m., the victim was walking down the 5300 block of Vernon Road when male stranger pulled up next to her in an unknown four-door vehicle and asked if she needed a ride.

The victim declined and continued walking.  Investigators say a short time later while she was walking across Scott Park, the man snuck up behind her, grabbed her by the back of the head, and forced her to the ground.

The suspect then forcibly raped the victim.

He's described as a black man with long dreadlocks, facial hair, and had a tattoo of a joker on his right hand.

Detectives said they have exhausted all possible investigative leads in this case. The provided a composite sketch of the man and a drawing of his tattoo on his right hand.

Police do not believe this case is related to any other cases they are currently investigating.
