JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
Police in Jacksonville announce an arrest in the murder of a local firefighter's wife. We're told police arrested 31 year-old Lance Kirkpatrick on a charge of murder for the October 28th killing of Kim Dorsey.
Police say the 38 year-old woman was beaten and stabbed to death.
Kirkpatrick had previously lived with Dorsey and her husband. He moved out at the time of the murder. Police say he was a contractor who did odd jobs at the Dorsey home in the Highland Gleen Subdivision on Eastbury Drive. It's unclear what led to the deadly attack.
Police say Dorsey was not expecting Kirkpatrick and when she refused to let him inside, her hit her on the head with a blunt object, then stabbed her.
Dorsey's husband returned from a 24 hour shift to find her dead on their bedroom floor in their Southside home.
