Police say they are searching for a man who attempted to sexually assault a woman at gunpoint last week.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 25 to 30 years of age (see sketch) driving a light colored 2000 Ford Focus with a missing driver's side mirror.

On the morning of Wednesday, April 18, Police say the victim was in the 2900 block of Pearl St. on the Northside when she was approached by the unknown suspect driving a light colored 2000 Ford Focus.  The exact color of the car is unknown.

The victim was taken to a nearby abandoned residence where the suspect pulled a gun and attempted to sexually assault her.

The victim was able to get away, and the suspect was seen fleeing the scene by several witnesses.

During his escape, the suspect's vehicle struck a pole, knocking off the driver's side mirror.

Police are asking anyone with information about the identity or location of the suspect or vehicle to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or email them at JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org.

To remain anonymous and possibly receive a reward, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-8477 or email them at rewards@fccrimestoppers.com.
