JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
The father of the 23 year-old Jacksonville man whom police say was murdered in broad daylight by his ex-girlfriend says there were warning signs.
Harold Davis Sr. says his son’s ex, 22 year-old Arianne Myles, had social anxiety issues, stalked Davis, and at times became violent with him.
“In retrospect, looking back, that probably really did mean something was wrong,” Davis tells our news partner Action News.
Police say Myles fatally shot Harold Davis Jr. outside of the U.S. Post Office at Blanding and Townsend using a .45-caliber gun. His co-worker at AT&T says Davis expressed concerns over Myles..
“The only thing in the world that he was scared of was her,” Alicia Culverhouse says. “Yeah, that’s what he told me last week at work.”
Davis Sr. says right now the family is hurting.
“We’re hurting bad. A lot of tears. Trying to remember the good times,” he says.
He says his son was trying to move on from Myles and was engaged to someone else. Davis is described as a computer and phone whiz who loved concocting herbal medicine. He had plans to move away from Jacksonville before he was killed.
Davis Sr. says he wants Myles to be punished for what she’s accused of doing.
"I'd like to see her go to jail and stay there. I'd like her to have the rest of her life to think about what she did to my son. I hope she never gets out."
Myles had to be taken to Shands Hospital for minor injuries she sustained in a car accident. She was later booked and charged with murder.
