Revisiting U.S. strategy in Syria after death of American aid worker

The president is defending the U.S. policy to not negotiate with terrorists following the death of 26-year-old American aid worker Kayla Mueller in Syria.
We spoke with University of North Florida visiting scholar and former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., Nancy Soderberg, for her thoughts on the strategy to defeat ISIS in Syria.
"Assad and his army are the only force capable of taking territory from ISIS," said Soderberg.
She believes arming moderates in the region is a strategy that needs to be re-evaluated. Soderberg also tells us the world needs to step up its efforts to take the ground from ISIS both in Syria and Iraq.
The White House confirmed Mueller's death, days after ISIS had claimed she died in a Jordanian airstrike in Syria. Top officials say there's no evidence that shows she was killed in an airstrike.
