Nassau County boaters found safe

By Rich Jones

Jacksonville, FL —

Two overdue boaters in Nassau County have been found safe.

A helicopter crew found 63-year-old Steve Stout and 13-year-old Alex Harner
on their disabled boat in a creek.

The Coast Guard says the pair was spotted as they waved their arms about 8:15am.

The pair left on a fishing trip in a white Ranger fishing boat and did not return by Sunday evening, when they were reported missing.

The boat was not equipped with the proper emergency equipment and the battery on a cell phone died.
