SEFFNER, Fla. —

Hillsborough County is investigating a second sinkhole that has opened. It's about two miles from the location where a man lost his life in a sinkhole that opened under his bedroom as he slept last week.

Reports say the new ten-foot deep hole is between two homes on Cedar Tree Lane. No injuries reported. The hole opened under a fence dividing the properties.

At the original location on Faithway Drive today, a backhoe demolished the home and gravel was placed in the sinkhole to fill it up. Workers made the tough decision not to attempt to recover the body of Jeff Bush, because it could be as much as 50 feet below the surface.

Engineers at the scene also determined that the sinkhole was larger than the home's foundation, which means it could have eventually been swallowed in its entirety.

Homes on either side of the property are also being tested for safety while the residents remain out.
