Jacksonville, FL —

The 20-year-old seriously injured when his Humvee overturned this morning has died.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Arandall Shears was driving the Humvee, registered to the US Army Guard, 146th Signal Battalion, northbound on 301 at NW 265th Street.  When attempting to change lanes he lost control, entered the media and overturned.  Shears was ejected from the Humvee and the truck lost its cargo as well.

Witnesses performed CPR on Shears until medical personnel arrived. He was taken to Shands Gainesville with critical injuries which were ultimately responsible for his death.

We're told Shears was heading for Jacksonville.  His hometown is West Point, Ga.
