We have another chance of thunderstorms today and they could fire up earlier, too.
WOKV Chief Meteorologist Accuweather's Heather Zehr says our thunderstorm chances are up to 40% today and they could arrive as early as lunch time.
As we saw Monday the isolated storms could bring torrential downpours and gusty winds.
Monday afternoon we saw the canopy to collapse at the BP/Kangaroo station on Philips Highway in Bayard. Authorities say no one was injured in the collapse. Tuesday morning the gas station was back open. The store's owner tells WOKV there was no damage to the pumps or store.
The storm also downed several trees and caused thousands to lose power. Jane Upton with JEA says nearly 6,000 JEA customers were without power during the height of the storm.
Heather Zehr says our storm chances will gradually go down as we move closer to teh weekend, but it's going to heat up in to the low to mid 90's.
