Crescent Beach, FL —
St. Johns County Sheriff’s detectives are renewing their push to identify remains found more than 27 years ago.
The remains were found about 8/10 of a mile north of the Crescent Beach ramp, about 2 ½ feet below the dune level. They are believed to be a white female, 5’7” with light brown/blonde hair. A forensic examination determined the female is between 20-40 years old, and the death itself predated the April 1985 discovery by 1-5 years.
They manner of death has been ruled a homicide. There are dental records and a DNA profile.
The FBI recently examined the remains and reconstructed the facial features. The victim is believed to look like the image to the left.
If you have any information about the possible identity of the victim you should call Detective Sean Tice at 904-209-2192 or Crime Stoppers.
