Some trouble for the top cop of St. Augustine Beach.
Chief Richard Hedges is off the job while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement looks into various charges from members of his own department.
His assistant police chief, Daniel Decoursey, and the former mayor of St. Augustine Beach, Frank Charles, are also named within the report. According to Channel 4, the claims include fraternization, favoritism, unethical behavior, lack of communication, lack of leadership, failure of discipline for sexual harassment, failure to collect evidence in a rape case, taking an SUV of a man who'd committed suicide, and at least seven handguns and a $1,500 bicycle missing.
A member of the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office will be the police chief in the interim. Hedges will keep his pay, badge, gun and vehicle during the investigation.
