A St. Johns County Sheriff’s deputy suffered no injuries in a collision with another car.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the deputy, 32-year-old Brandon C. Allsup, was driving south on Holmes Boulevard with lights and sirens engaged while responding to an emergency call. At the same time, 48-year-old Lisa Lorenzo, of St. Augustine, was traveling in the same direction attempting to make a left turn on to Butler Avenue.
FHP says Allsup failed to yield to the deputy’s car and caused the collision. She sustained minor injuries and will now be charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
