Student in critical condition after jumping from bus

By WOKV News Team

Jacksonville, FL —

We have information from the Florida Highway Patrol about a student jumping from a moving school bus while on his way to a Special Education School on Beach Blvd near Cruz Road.

That 10-year-old child had to be rushed from the scene off of University Boulevard to Shands Hospital with life threatening injuries.

He had somehow managed to unlock the back-door, then jumped -- hitting his head on the pavement. The bus was moving at about 10 to 15 miles per hour.

The accident happened around 3:45pm on Tuesday with about seven other kids on the bus.

WOKV checked on Flores' condition Wednesday morning but Shands Jacksonville would not release any information.
