AT&T says they’re looking to hire thirty people from Jacksonville and 300 total from Florida.
Spokeswoman Gretchen Schultz says the jobs include national account executive, premise technician, customer service manager, maintenance administrator, engineer, property manager and assistant store manager.
Don’t worry if you don’t have much technical training. Schultz says you don't have to have a technical skill set to do all of them.
“We do an immense amount of on-the –job training,” Schultz said.
She said the company really wants to get the word out to veterans who are looking for a job.
“We recognize that they’re our leaders of tomorrow. They have wonderful training. We find that Florida is home to more veterans than any state but California and Texas and the unemployment rate among veterans is very high.”
There isn’t a target for how many jobs they want to fill with veterans. The most qualified people will get the job.
“Everyone is open to be a candidate. We’re just making sure everyone is aware of them,” Schultz said.
