Jacksonville, FL —

A Jacksonville teen faces at least 25 years in prison for a 2010 shooting.

The State Attorney’s Office says Raymond Matthew Austin, Jr., has been convicted of Attempted Second Degree Murder.  Austin lured Carl Davis in to a parking lot in October 2010 and shot him in the chest.  The victim’s ex-girlfriend Shanda Merrit was a co-defendant and goes to trial for Attempted Murder in August.

Austin is also expected to go to trial for the 2010 Kidnapping, Armed Robbery and First Degree Murder of 83-year-old Charles Soukup.  Soukup was kidnapped from the Jacksonville International Airport and killed.  His body was found near the airport.  Austin, Merritt and two others are charged.

Austin’s sentencing for the attempted murder will take place the week of July 30th.
