Jacksonville, FL —

A time capsule was found last week inside of the current courthouse in Jacksonville.  Inside were newspapers, coins, pictures of the previous courthouses dating back to the 1880's.

On Tuesday morning the city held a dedication for the time capsule and also for a marker that'll be constructed outside of the new courthouse, in it will go a new time capsule.  The contents will include several of the artifacts that were inside of the capsule discovered last week.

Mayor John Peyton was joined by several other lawmakers, judges and attorneys.  He says the new courthouse was the right idea at the right time.  He says the timing of it made it Jacksonville's own economic stimulus plan; more than 3,000 people worked on the courthouse throughout the construction process.  The courthouse will officially open up in May of 2012.
