JSO says it’s arrested two suspects and is searching for a third in the case of a teenager who they now say was in the wrong place at the wrong time when two men tried to rob someone else of money he just won in a dice game.
Originally, JSO said that 16-year-old Ranod McKann had been playing dice with others when he was shot and killed, but now they say new information suggests otherwise.
"Our victim happened to come out after this dice game had taken place," says Lt. Rob Schoonover with JSO. "He met up with another individual who had won a large amount of money in that dice game earlier...basically he was at the wrong place at the wrong time and the suspects came back to get their money back, robbed, and for some reason shot McKann.
When the two men who lost the money, about $2,000, came back and tried to steal it, McKann was shot. Cops arrested Antonio Atwater and Earl Grant, both 20 years old. They’re still looking for 20-year-old Tyrone Taylor.
