Two people were shot to death inside a home in the Westside community of Ortega Bluff.

"Upon entering the residence, they (officers) found two black males who appear to have been shot," says Lt. Rob Schoonover with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

"They are working some leads. We're still trying to identify the bodies." Schoonover says detectives have not yet established a relationship between the two victims, although he did say at least one lived in the house.

He says at this time, it does not appear to be a murder-suicide, and they do not have a suspect. Residents in the normally quiet neighborhood are stunned. William Johnson, who lives near the crime scene, says he would have never expected a crime to take place in the neighborhood, let alone a double murder. "No, I would not. Very surprising," says Johnson.
