GAINESVILLE, Fla. —
Carlos Aguilar has been scouring the wooded areas around the University of Florida since Thursday when he got word his son had gone missing. He drove up to Gainesville from Miami to search for any signs of his boy.
"I know that it might seem that people think that I'm crazy but I'm going to do the unthinkable to recover my son," said Aguilar.
18-year-old Cristian Aguilar has been missing since 6 p.m. Thursday when he was last seen getting out of a friend's car in the 1900 block of NW 13th St. Cristian's father says his son doesn't have a history of running away.
Police are reporting that they have a person of interest in the case. Gainesville PD says 18-year-old Pedro Bravo told them he and Aguilar had been in an altercation and that he had left Aguilar in a parking lot. Cops warn Aguilar might be seriously injured or disoriented and may not be able to seek help. Bravo has not been arrested but he is being held under Florida's Baker Act after he apparently made statements to police about wanting to hurt himself.
Cristian Aguilar is described as 5'10" tall and thin. He was last seen wearing a blue-gray hoodie and light colored jeans.
