The University of North Florida is working hard finishing up last minute touches to make sure  Thursday night'sCNN/Republican Party of Florida debate goes off without a hitch, even students are stepping in to help, like UNF Junior Max Lesser.

"It's really fun, it's pretty cool to see everything going down, you know, at the school. I'm here as junior, so it's my third year, and this is my first time seeing something as big as CNN coming onto campus, so it's pretty cool," Lesser tells our newspartners Channel 4.

Students are tasked with everything from setting up the press room to running errands for the CNN crew.

As for Thursday's debate, UNF Spokesperson Joanna Norris tells WOKV that she would advise to stay away from campus if you absolutely don't need to be there.

"Really the best place that anyone can watch the debate is the comfort of their own home," says Norris.

For those of you who were the lucky ones to snag tickets, doors open at 5:30 at the fine arts center and will close at 7:30 pm for security reasons.

WOKV was also told that guests are not allowed to bring in any bags as security will be very tight for the event.

UNF will also be running shuttles to and from campus. Norris says because of the closure of parking garages on campus, the best place to park would be lot 53, which is located on Kernan Blvd.

"Patience will be the key word for the day. There will be more traffic, there will be more foot traffic, more media on campus," says Norris.

And for those who are UNF faculty, staff or students, there will be a watch party in the Robinson Theater.
