An update to the man was hurled from an SUV an into the St. Johns River in that crash on the Buckman Bridge.
Ean Butler was rescued from the chilly waters by several people who stopped to help, including a plumber who had a ladder in his truck.
Jacksonville Fire Rescue says the man was one of four people inside a vehicle going southbound approaching the hump on the Buckman Bridge when the crash occurred Monday.
Another passenger, Victoria Webber, was thrown onto the pavement. She's in the critical care unit at Orange Park Medical Center.
The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash is not hurt.
