Road rage victim's family calls killer a "coward"

By Matt Augustine and WOKV News Team

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

The family of a man shot and killed on Dunn Avenue is saying their husband's killer isn't even worth their breath.  Jacksonville Police have identified the victim in an apparent road rage shooting as 46-year-old Thomas Schadowsky of Yulee.

Schadowsky was found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle. He had been shot.

Police found the victim's pickup truck and trailer in the woods just off the south side of Dunn Avenue.

Police believe the shooter may have used the Gate station prior to an altercation, then sped away onto I-295.

Schadowsky's wife Rebecca tells our partner Action News her husband's killer will eventually have to face the music.

"I don't have anything to say to the man that shot my husband.  He's nothing to me.  He's not worth my breath...I believe in JSO and I believe in God and he's going to have to answer to both of them eventually."

A possible vehicle of interest was seen following the victim and has been described to investigators as a burnt orange Chevrolet Avalanche or Cadillac Escalade EXT with a FAMU license tag.

Anyone with any information about this homicide or the described vehicle of interest is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. To remain anonymous and receive a possible reward, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
