Lawmakers in Virginia just won't back down from a fight to keep an aircraft carrier from coming to Mayport.
Virginia's senators and congressmen are restating their argument with the newly installed chief of naval operations.
In a letter, they say the Navy should spend money on other projects rather than retrofitting Mayport.
Navy Secretary Ray Mabus wrote in a letter this spring that the Navy is committed to moving a carrier to Mayport, by 2019.
