JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —
Police say a woman who was hit in the head with a baseball bat after trying to steal a purse blamed her injury on her own husband!
JSO says Melissa Caroll walked into a home off West Goldenrod Circle near Huffman Blvd while the homeowners were in their yard.
She tried to make off with the purse, but the wife chased her and held her down - that's when the husband grabbed the bat and hit her. Carroll still managed to get away. She was later pulled over on Beach Blvd. for reckless driving.
Investigators say she had a marijuana pipe in her car when they pulled her over.
