A crash which tied up traffic in East Arlington this morning has left one woman dead.
Jacksonville Police say a woman was driving on Girvan Road around 5:30 AM and a neighbor heard the crash and came out to help the driver. That person found the driver had hit a tree and was unresponsive. Although she was wearing a seatbelt, the force of the impact actually moved her in to the passenger’s seat.
Girvan was closed for several hours for the investigation.
She was pronounced dead at the scene when rescue personnel arrived.
