A woman is killed and an man critically injured in a crash on the Southside.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports 26-year-old Janet Middleton was turning onto Phillips Highway from Cypress Plaza on Sunday when she was broadsided by an SUV being driven by Jessamyn Sanders.
Middleton was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, 25 year-old Kareem Middleton, was taken to Shands Jacksonville with critical injuries.
Blood-alcohol test results on Sanders are pending, and FHP reports charges may follow.
