Woman shot in Jacksonville Beach is paralyzed

By WOKV News Team

Jacksonville Beach, FL —

She was in the wrong place at the wrong time according to police, and now one Jacksonville Beach woman is paralyzed.

25-year-old Iesha Mann was shot during a shooting in Jacksonville Beach last week which she had nothing to do with.  One man involved, who was also shot, is in police custody while two others involved remain at-large.

Mann’s mother, Josephine, told our news partner Channel 4 that it will be a long road to recovery.

“They can’t remove the bullet.  Right now if they tried, it would do more damage than good.  They’re waiting for the swelling to go down to see how much movement she’ll get back,” she says.

Iesha was shot in the back and Josephine says that bullet is lodged in Iesha’s spine.  Mann told Channel 4 Iesha is just happy to be alive.
