Jacksonville, FL —
Northeast Florida Congressman Ted Yoho says the threat of default is just an illusion. "Hitting the debt ceiling does not equate to a default. Default is when you can't service your debt. We've got plenty of money to service the debt". Yoho tells Jacksonville's Morning News we currently owe $6 billion, while the US treasury takes in about $230 billion a month."We have the money to service the debt right now and pay social security, veterans payments, and all of that other stuff". Yoho says if we get to a point where we can't pay the bills, then he would support raising the debt ceiling.
Hear what Yoho wants to tell President Obama if he were to be in Thursday's meeting with top Republicans in the U.S. House.
