JACKSONVILLE, Fla. —

Wednesday's presidential debate at the University of Denver was the talk of the morning Thursday.  Tables at the Fox Restaurant in Avondale were already abuzz with discussion as the restaurant opened its doors.  While the subject of the conversations differed, the headline was the same for all of them: Mitt Romney was the first debate's winner.

"Everything he talked about seemed to be very well organized," said diner Bill Massey.  "I thought that the president was a little bit disjointed in the way he approached the debate last night.  I don't think he was really prepared."

Massey said he thought Romney could have taken the gloves off a little more and gone after Obama's record a little more.  Another patron, Sandra, agreed that President Obama seemed unprepared to be on stage.

"I think he looked uncomfortable.  I think it was a good opportunity for people to be able to see the candidates for themselves and listen to what their words actually are without having to have someone else interpret it for you."

Another customer, Percy, told me he wants to hear more specific details on how each candidate is going to fix the country's problems, but laughed as he told me he's not holding his breath.

"I don't think it's possible for a politician to be elected and just lay it all out like they think it ought to be."

Percy says he thought the president stuck too much to his standard lines and should have branched out more.
