A St. Mary's teacher is facing child molestation charges.
Police began investigating a report of sexual activity between 34-year-old Amy Lee Cassada and a 15-year-old student at the St. Marys Ombudsman School last month. Detectives say they interviewed witnesses and seized several electronic devices as part of the investigation. Police say they analyzed digital media evidence and found Cassada also sent sexual images through text messages.
Police say a second person is in police custody in connection with the case. Investigators say 19-year-old John Ezzard admitted to threatening the 15-year-old. Investigators say Ezzard, a former student of Cassada's, told police he received sexual images from her as well.
Cassada has been charged with child molestation and sending obscene materials to minors.
Police believe there may be other juveniles or students victimized by Cassada. You're asked to call St. Marys Police Department at (912) 510-0436 if you have any information on this case.
