Police confirm the body of a swimmer who disappeared while swimming at Huguenot Park nearly two weeks ago is 30-year-old Quentin Harris.
Just a few days after Harris vanished off Hugeunot Park, a body was found washed ashore just about one mile away. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Spokeswoman Karen Parker says the body was found on Little Talbot Island.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Dive Team first responded to 10980 Heckscher Drive Saturday, June 15th regarding a possible drowning. Three men were swimming when two became distressed. Only one of those distressed swimmers was pulled to safety. The search had to be called off late Saturday and couldn’t resume Sunday because of dangerous conditions.
Harris' family told our newspartner Action news in a previous interview they believed the body belonged to their son. Harris' mother says she was greatful to first-responders for searching for her son. No word on any funeral arrangements.
