An Amber Amber issued this afternoon for a young girl in Miami was canceled after the child was found unharmed, a dispatcher for the Miami-Dade Police Department said.
Authorities sent out the alert around 2:45 p.m. after reporting that a Miami girl between the ages 4 and 6 may have been abducted.
TV station WTVJ- 6 in Miami reported that the girl was found with her two parents in southwest Miami-Dade County.
A witness told police the car was heading south on Red Road when the trunk was opened in the area of Southwest 58th Avenue and Southwest 40th Street, WTVJ said. Another driver reportedly told authorities there appeared to be a little girl in the trunk.
According to the WTVJ report, the girl’s father told police his daughter lowered the back seat of the car to get a water bottle that had fallen into the trunk. The father stopped the car at the intersection, got out and opened the trunk to get the water bottle for her.
