A 12-year-old girl took home a dubious honor from New York - the National Rotten Sneaker Contest winner.
Seven finalists gathered at the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum in Times Square for Odor Eater's annual contest.
KRQE reports - Jordan Armstrong from Las Cruces, N.M., had what was judged the stinkiest sneakers in the country during the 39th installment of the contest.
The tennis shoes were ranked by just how rank the outside and inside of the sneakers were, not only the filth factor and the beaten-in factor but of course the smell factor.
One judge said in a press release from Odor Eaters, "It's not enough that the sneakers repel me. They should make me feel faint...That's the kind of stink that takes home the gold."
Jordan took home $2,500. She admitted they got so bad because she had not taken them off for the past two years, wearing them to school, sporting events and even to bed.
Her sneakers will be stored in the Odor-Eaters "Hall of Fumes."
