Jaguars complete 2014 coaching staff

The Jacksonville Jaguars have wrapped up their coaching staff for the 2014 season. Head coach Gus Bradley announced Wednesday the hiring of Dan Shamash as the team’s defensive quality control coach.

Shamash, 29, joins the Jaguars after spending the last two seasons in Tampa Bay with the Buccaneers. In 2012 he served as a coaching assistant. In 2013 he was the Bucs quality control assistant to head coach Greg Schiano.

He has also spent time in the NFL as an offensive assistant to Eric Mangini with the Cleveland Browns from 2009-10, and with the New York Jets in the game operations and special events department in 2008.

In 2008 he also served as a defensive assistant at Columbia University.

Shamash graduated with a degree in statistics and philosophy from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a three-year letterman at linebacker. He grew up in New York City and attended Riverdale Country School in the Bronx.
