JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jaguars signed third-round selection Brandon Linder to his rookie contract Monday. The contract is a four-deal, worth $2,771,000.
Linder, the 93rd overall selection in May’s NFL Draft, is the sixth of nine rookies selected by the Jaguars to sign with the team, leaving first-round quarterback Blake Bortles and the pair of second-round receivers Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson as the only rookies left to sign.
Linder, 6-foot-6, 311 pounds, was a four-year starter, mostly at guard, at the University of Miami. He was drafted to replace veteran Uche Nwaneri, who was released earlier this offseason, as the right guard of the future for the Jags and is expected to compete with third-year pro, Jacques McClendon, for the starting job heading into this season.
Also Monday in an attempt to add depth to an injury depleted receiving corps, the Jaguars signed undrafted rookie receiver Brandon Wimberly, from Nevada, and waived offensive tackle DeMarcus Love.
