Berlin Swimmers Take Icy Plunge
The warm-up before the freeze. "The Berlin Seals" get in the mood for their annual Christmas Eve ice plunge. Wearing not much more than Santa Claus hats, swimmers take on the freezing waters of Lake Oranke. With outdoor temperatures a balmy 11 degrees Celsius or 52 degrees Fahrenheit, this year's swim was child's play. And apparently, it boosts the body and the spirits.
