Chinese Miners Rescued After Five Days

Four miners were rescued early on Friday morning (December 7) after more than five days trapped underground in a flooded mine in northeast China, but seven are still missing, state media reported. The Furuixiang coal mine in Qitaihe city, Heilongjiang province, flooded on Saturday (December 1), when 22 miners were working at the pit, broadcaster CCTV reported. Six miners escaped on Saturday, while two more were brought out on Sunday (December 2). So far, three miners have been confirmed dead.
