Clashes Ahead of Slovenia Polls

It started with flowers but quickly turned to chaos as thousands of protesters on the streets of Slovenia's capital clashed with riot police on Friday (November 30) outside the parliament building in Ljubljana. About 7,000 demonstrators turned out for the protest over budget cuts and alleged government corruption as the nation prepared to vote for a new president on Sunday (December 2). At least 15 people, most of them police officers, have been injured. About 30 people have been arrested.
